The MicroCoil® Grille is engineered to occupy the smallest amount of headroom on the market. It reduces the required footprint by 50% compared to other security grilles, preserving design intent and reclaiming valuable overhead space. A compact profile solves the challenge of meeting ADA-required clearances for handicap accessible vans in parking garages with openings averaging 9’6”, allowing almost any facility to achieve compliance without sacrificing security.

You’ll find its performance as impressive as its design. Engineered for relentless reliability, it’s rated for at least 500,000 cycles at speeds up to 24 inches per second, for access that’s both effortless and instant. The MicroCoil Grille strikes a balance between speed and silent operation with its patented nested link system that minimizes noise and vibration. Paired with the advanced APEX Pro SmartController™, programming and installation are simplified, while integrated light curtains and photo eyes minimize potential hazards. The result is a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution that excels in the most demanding applications.

Usage

The MicroCoil Grille is engineered to handle at least 500,00 cycles (open/closes) at speeds of up to 24" per second.

Standard Materials & Finishes

The Extreme High Performance MicroCoil - 500K Cycle offers an open-air design for increased visibility and ventilation. Curtains are assembled with a minimum solid 5/16 diameter, 5056 H32 aluminum alloy sleeved with horizontal aluminum or stainless steel tube spacers to separate vertical links on alternate rods with continuous end tube spacers. The vertical spacing is 2.5" to 3.7" on center. Vertical chains are solid 1/8" minimum stainless steel links, 1/4 inch wide, positioned by aluminum or stainless steel tube spacers on 9 inch centers. Nylon insert nuts are threaded on to the end of each rod to secure the chains.

Extreme® Series Door Drive & Control System

This door features our first intelligent control panel - the APEX Pro SmartController™. It features:

Plug-and-play connections between the motor, control panel, and standard sensors
LCD screen that walks user through:
- Initial door commissioning
- Electrically set limits
- Status and error messages
- Many common door adjustments

This door also comes with a compact direct drive operator with no roller chains or sprockets and an internal inertia brake for safety.

Sensing Edge

Smoother Installation and easy maintenance: Designed with a flexible black rubber TPE material, our new sensing edge has two fins that conform to variations in the floor on both the interior and exterior of your door or grille. This ensures a secure seal without requiring you to overset the bottom door limit. The new sensing edge is easy to clean and remains free from rust and dirt stains, maintaining a fresh uniform appearance.

Entrapment Protection Devices

Entrapment protection devices ensure that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object. If an object enters path of closure, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return it to the fully open position.

Monitored Protection, Even at High Speeds

UL 325-2010 (NEMA 4X) compliant photo eye sensors allow for momentary contact operation – useful in parking garages and other high use openings. Interruption of the photo eye beam before the door fully closes causes the door to immediately halt downward travel and reverse direction to return to the fully open position.

SafetyGard Light Curtain Technology

The 6’ tall light curtain is installed within the guide and blends into the guide construction. If the grille is cycling and an object passes through the curtain beams the door will immediately halt downward travel and reverse direction to return to the open position.

Grille Repairability

Link Repair Kit

If a single link gets damaged, you do not have to replace an entire section of the grille curtain. Simply make note of the number that is etched on the vertical link, order a link repair kit for the number link that is damaged and repair it in the field.
